The Rifa'iyyah is a Sufi order attributed to Ahmad Rifa'i, a spiritual teacher from southern Iraq in the 6th century AH. His followers and disciples established networks in Iraq and the Levant after his death, and the tradition spread to other regions in later periods.
Collective recitation, moral education, and community service are prominent in some Rifa'i communities. Specific rituals, known in some areas as Rifa'iyyah, are not representative of all branches and must be examined in their historical and local context.
